Gym and Sports

Over the years, our Mandal’s colleges has won laurels in sports and cultural activities besides always being in the forefront of academic achievements. Our colleges has a tradition of providing an all-round development for students, by making available facilities for sports activities. The colleges has very good infrastructural facilities for sports which have been developed and have thrived over the years.

With a firm belief that physical fitness leads to mental fitness, the Colleges provide first rate facility in play fields for various games like Volley-ball, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Hockey Chess, Caroms, etc. in the campus. The Colleges conducts Sports Meet and encourages students to participate in the Inter-Collegiate events. In addition to team games, individuals have excelled in Colleges and University level sport events. Our Arts, Science & Commerce college is the recipients of Gymkhana Day Trophy and have secured fourth position among the Top Ten Colleges for four consecutive years (2011-14). The college has also hosted inter group sports events in 2012.

1. Outdoor Games: The College has a 7 acres multipurpose playground where students are trained to play variety of games. The athletes have facility of a special 400 meters 8 lane standard grass running track. A cement court with acrylic board is provided for playing basketball. There is provision for games like cricket, football, soft ball, base ball, hand ball, volley ball, kho-kho, kabaddi and hockey.

2. Indoor Games: The College is endowed with a well-equipped multipurpose indoor stadium There is provision of a separate wooden court meant exclusively for playing badminton. The other games played are Table Tennis, Wrestling, Judo, Power lifting, Weight Lifting, Body building and chess.

3. Gymnasium: The Gymnasium is equipped with magnetic bike, motorized treadmill, multi-gym, jogger, vibrator, twister and massager meant for physical fitness of students. The girl’s hostel has a well-equipped gym with latest gym equipments.

Zonal, Inter University, Inter collegiate sports events are organized by the college to meet the neighborhood. On the basis of overall participation and performance at National, Inter-university, Inter-collegiate, Regional and cultural/educational/ social events, the Best sportsman of the year is selected by the college.

Free sports kits and accessories needed for games are made available. The students are motivated for intake of a balanced diet as per their need for a specific sport. The outstanding athletes and sports persons are given incentive up to 15 grace marks for passing or for class improvement under Ordinance 163.
